About This Series

The American Women Quarters program honors the accomplishments and contributions of notable American women, with five new reverse designs each year. Honorees include Maya Angelou, Sally Ride, Wilma Mankiller, Nina Otero-Warren, and Anna May Wong, among others. The obverse features Laura Gardin Fraser's portrait of George Washington, originally submitted for the 1932 quarter.
