Description
The 2022 (P) Anna May Wong Quarter is a quarter produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the American Women Quarters (2022 - 2025) series. The U.S. Mint produced 226.8 million examples, making this ranked 8th of 15 mint variants by mintage, with 9% of production. The obverse features George Washington facing right in a new dynamic portrait by Laura Gardin Fraser (her original 1931 design, finally adopted 90 years later) and the reverse displays unique designs honoring prominent American women who shaped the nation's history. First Chinese American Hollywood film star of the 1920s and 1930s. The reverse shows Wong with her chin resting on her hand, framed by the bright lights of a marquee sign. Inaugural year featuring Maya Angelou, Dr. Sally Ride, Wilma Mankiller, Nina Otero-Warren, and Anna May Wong. The new Laura Gardin Fraser obverse debuted, her original 1931 design finally adopted.
