The 2023 (P) Edith Kanaka'ole Quarter is a quarter minted at the Philadelphia Mint, within the American Women Quarters (2022 - 2025) series. The Philadelphia Mint struck 372,800,000 Edith Kanaka'ole quarters dated 2023. The obverse features George Washington facing right in a new dynamic portrait by Laura Gardin Fraser (modeled in 1931 and first used on a quarter in 2022) and the reverse displays unique designs honoring prominent American women who shaped the nation's history. Native Hawaiian composer, chanter, hula master, and cultural preservationist who dedicated her life to Hawaiian traditions. The reverse includes the inscription "E ho mai ka ike" (Grant the wisdom). Bessie Coleman, Edith Kanaka'ole, Eleanor Roosevelt, Jovita Idar, and Maria Tallchief honored. Coleman was the first African American and Native American woman to hold a pilot's license.
