Description

The 2023 (D) Maria Tallchief Quarter is a quarter from the Denver Mint, belonging to the American Women Quarters (2022 - 2025) series. America's first major prima ballerina and a citizen of the Osage Nation who became the star of the New York City Ballet. The reverse shows Tallchief in a spotlit balletic pose. Bessie Coleman, Edith Kanaka'ole, Eleanor Roosevelt, Jovita Idar, and Maria Tallchief honored. Coleman was the first African American and Native American woman to hold a pilot's license.
