Description
The 2023 (P) Eleanor Roosevelt Quarter is a quarter produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the American Women Quarters (2022 - 2025) series. The U.S. Mint produced 284 million examples, making this ranked 11th of 15 mint variants by mintage, with 11% of production. The obverse features George Washington facing right in a new dynamic portrait by Laura Gardin Fraser (her original 1931 design, finally adopted 90 years later) and the reverse displays unique designs honoring prominent American women who shaped the nation's history. Longest-serving First Lady and champion of civil rights who chaired the committee that drafted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The reverse depicts Roosevelt alongside scales of justice against a globe backdrop. Bessie Coleman, Edith Kanaka'ole, Eleanor Roosevelt, Jovita Idar, and Maria Tallchief honored. Coleman was the first African American and Native American woman to hold a pilot's license. Struck at the original U.S. Mint facility, in continuous operation since 1792. Estimated market value ranges from $0 to $1 depending on grade and condition. Struck in copper-nickel, weighing 5.67 grams, 24.26 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #919365.
