Description

The 2025 (D) Dr. Vera Rubin Quarter is a quarter produced at the Denver Mint as part of the American Women Quarters (2022 - 2025) series. The U.S. Mint produced 63 million examples, making this ranked 8th of 15 mint variants by mintage, with 6% of production. The obverse features George Washington facing right in a new dynamic portrait by Laura Gardin Fraser (her original 1931 design, finally adopted 90 years later) and the reverse displays unique designs honoring prominent American women who shaped the nation's history. Astronomer whose pioneering observations of galaxy rotation rates provided key evidence for the existence of dark matter. Final year of the program, featuring Ida B. Wells, Dr. Vera Rubin, Stacey Park Milbern, Juliette Gordon Low, and Harriet Tubman.
