Struck in the traditional 75% copper, 25% nickel alloy at 5 grams and 21.21 mm, the series continues across Philadelphia (P) and Denver (D) for circulation, with proofs from San Francisco (S). Satin Finish specimens from 2006-2010 Uncirculated Mint Sets are collected as distinct varieties, their matte surface texture contrasting with standard business-strike luster. Error variety collectors have identified doubled die obverses, repunched mintmarks, and die clashes throughout the modern series, maintaining the Jefferson nickel's popularity among die variety enthusiasts.
