Two years of special reverse designs commemorating the Lewis and Clark expedition and the Louisiana Purchase. The 2004 reverses depict the Peace Medal and Keelboat, while 2005 features the American Bison and Ocean in View designs. Joe Fitzgerald's new forward-facing Jefferson portrait debuted on the 2005 obverse.
