Description
The 2007 (D) Jefferson Nickel is a nickel produced at the Denver Mint as part of the Jefferson Nickels Return to Monticello 2006 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 626.2 million examples, making this the higher-mintage of the two mint variants, representing 52% of production. The obverse features Thomas Jefferson facing forward in a three-quarter view, the first forward-facing portrait on a U.S. circulating coin and the reverse displays Monticello in a refined depiction. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry. Struck at the Denver Mint, established in 1906 from an earlier assay office that processed Colorado gold rush metal. Estimated market value ranges from $0 to $1 depending on grade and condition.
