Description
The 2020 (W) Proof Jefferson Nickel - Reverse Proof is a proof nickel struck at the West Point Mint, part of the Jefferson Nickels Return to Monticello 2006 to Date series. The obverse features Thomas Jefferson facing forward in a three-quarter view, the first forward-facing portrait on a U.S. circulating coin, while the reverse displays Monticello in a refined depiction. Designed by Jamie Franki (obverse) / Felix Schlag (reverse, modified). Struck in 75% copper, 25% nickel, 21.2 mm in diameter. Cataloged as PCGS #816084. The Return to Monticello design debuted in 2006, retaining the forward-facing Jefferson portrait introduced during the Westward Journey series. Current circulating design. Satin Finish Mint Set versions (2005-2010) and proof issues provide collecting depth.
