Description
The 2015 (P) Jefferson Nickel, struck at the Philadelphia Mint, is part of the Jefferson Nickels Return to Monticello 2006 to Date collection. The U.S. Mint produced 752.9 million examples, making this the lower-mintage of the two mint variants. The obverse features Thomas Jefferson facing forward in a three-quarter view, the first forward-facing portrait on a U.S. circulating coin and the reverse displays Monticello in a refined depiction. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry.
