About This Series

The smallest denomination in the Philippine coinage system, produced only from 1903 to 1908. These tiny bronze coins feature the same general design motifs as the larger denominations. Production ceased after six years when the denomination proved impractical for commerce. All issues were struck at U.S. mints, primarily Philadelphia.
