Coin Series
About This Series
The primary silver coin of the Philippines under American rule, modeled on the Mexican peso that had long circulated in Southeast Asian trade. The design features a standing female figure and the American eagle. These large silver coins were struck at Philadelphia, San Francisco, and the Manila Mint. The 1906-S Proof is among the rarest issues in the Philippine series.
