The 1911 Philippine Peso is a United States peso from the Philippines Peso 1903-1945 series — a late issue, 9th of 11 years in the series. In 1911, coins were struck at the San Francisco Mint with a combined mintage of 463,000. This represents the second-lowest annual mintage in the series, at the series median of 463,000. The obverse features a female figure standing beside an anvil, holding a hammer and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Produced during the Progressive Era, when President Theodore Roosevelt championed a renaissance in American coin design that produced some of the most beautiful coins ever struck.
