Description
The 1912 (S) Philippine Peso is a peso produced at the San Francisco Mint as part of the Philippines Peso 1903-1945 series. Total mintage reached 680,000. The obverse features a female figure standing beside an anvil, holding a hammer and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Produced during the Progressive Era, when President Theodore Roosevelt championed a renaissance in American coin design that produced some of the most beautiful coins ever struck.
