The 1908 Philippine Peso is a United States peso from the Philippines Peso 1903-1945 series — 6th of 11 years in the series. In 1908, coins were struck at the San Francisco Mint. The obverse features a female figure standing beside an anvil, holding a hammer and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Produced during the Progressive Era, when President Theodore Roosevelt championed a renaissance in American coin design that produced some of the most beautiful coins ever struck. A notable auction result reached $11K in PR67 grade at Heritage Auctions. Designed by Melicio Figueroa.
