Draped Bust to Left Half Eagles 1807-1812

About This Series

John Reich redesigned the half eagle with Liberty facing left wearing a mob cap, paired with a heraldic eagle reverse. This short-lived series of only six years features the Capped Bust style that became standard across denominations. The 1808/7 overdate and 1812 are collected by die variety. These coins circulated widely in domestic and international trade.
