The 1936 Commonwealth Philippine Peso is a United States peso from the Philippines Peso 1903-1945 series — the final year of the series. In 1936, coins were struck at the M Mint. The obverse features a female figure standing beside an anvil, holding a hammer and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Struck during the Great Depression, when mintages dropped sharply and the United States abandoned the gold standard in 1933. A notable auction result reached $18K in MS67+ � grade.
