Description
The 1960 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Large Date represents a Denver Mint issue from the Lincoln Memorial Cents 1959-2008 series. Denver struck 1.6 billion cents dated 1960 in all, Large Date and Small Date together; how the total divides between them is not recorded. The obverse features Abraham Lincoln facing right and the reverse displays the Lincoln Memorial building in Washington, D.C. Both large date and small date varieties exist from Philadelphia and Denver, creating four collectible variants. Coined at Denver's facility, which transitioned from processing Colorado gold rush metal to full-scale coin production in 1906. Estimated market value ranges from $0.02 to $407 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 95% copper, 5% tin and zinc, weighing 3.11 grams, 19.05 mm in diameter, with a plain edge. Cataloged as PCGS #2864.
