Description

The 1960 Lincoln Memorial Cent - Proof Large/Small Date is a proof cent struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Lincoln Memorial Cents 1959-2008 series. All 1960 proof cents together had a mintage of 1.7 million; how many came from the Large over Small Date die is not recorded. The obverse features Abraham Lincoln facing right and the reverse displays the Lincoln Memorial building in Washington, D.C.. Both large date and small date varieties exist from Philadelphia and Denver, creating four collectible variants. As a proof issue, this coin was struck multiple times on specially prepared polished planchets using polished dies, producing mirror-like fields and frosted design elements prized by collectors. Estimated market value is approximately $26. Struck in 95% copper, 5% tin and zinc, weighing 3.11 grams, 19.05 mm in diameter, with a plain edge. Cataloged as PCGS #3410.
