Description

ADC-1c-1960D(LD)-01 is an atypical die clash on a 1960-D Large Date Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by Mad Die Clashes. What first looks like one continuous clash is really two separate events, with the die tilted slightly in opposite directions each time, one toward the east and one toward the west. MDC gives an overlay for each. From the westward event, the obverse shows the Memorial's roof line and the vertical line running to the cornice, and the bottoms of the letters AME cross the mint mark. From the eastward event, the bays and columns marked LIBERTY's TY and the back of Lincoln's neck, and the vertical line behind Lincoln is the roof-to-cornice vertical. MDC also pictures the reverse marks from each event. The mint mark is repunched.
