About This Series

The largest silver denomination in the regular Philippine coinage, equivalent to half a peso. Struck in 75% silver (later reduced to 75% silver in smaller weight), these coins feature a standing figure on the obverse and an eagle shield on the reverse. The series includes issues from four mints and spans the entire period of American sovereignty over the Philippines.
