Description
The 1936-M Philippine Fifty Centavos Commonwealth KM-176 is a cent produced at the M Mint as part of the Philippines Fifty Centavos 1903-1945 series. The obverse features a female figure standing beside an anvil, similar to but larger than the twenty centavos and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Struck during the Great Depression, when mintages dropped sharply and the United States abandoned the gold standard in 1933. Auction record: $2,280 MS66 08-21-2019 Stack's Bowers. Struck in silver, weighing 3.6 grams, 24 mm in diameter, with a plain edge. Cataloged as PCGS #90409.
