Description
The 1945 (S) Philippine Fifty Centavos is a cent produced at the San Francisco Mint as part of the Philippines Fifty Centavos 1903-1945 series. The obverse features a female figure standing beside an anvil, similar to but larger than the twenty centavos and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Produced during World War II, when the Mint altered coin compositions to conserve strategic metals for the war effort. Auction record: $4,920 MS67+ 12-17-2023 Heritage Auctions.
