The 1904 Philippine Fifty Centavos is a United States cent from the Philippines Fifty Centavos 1903-1945 series. The obverse features a female figure standing beside an anvil, similar to but larger than the twenty centavos, while the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Designed by Melecio Figueroa. The Philippine Fifty Centavos was the second-highest circulating denomination in the Philippine series, struck in silver. Composition and weight changes tracked the evolution of the monetary system. Silver content and limited mintages create collector value. The Commonwealth and wartime issues form distinct subsets.
