About This Coin

The 1904 Philippine Fifty Centavos is a United States cent from the Philippines Fifty Centavos 1903-1945 series — the second year of the series. In 1904, coins were struck at the San Francisco Mint. The obverse features a female figure standing beside an anvil, similar to but larger than the twenty centavos and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Produced during the Progressive Era, when President Theodore Roosevelt championed a renaissance in American coin design that produced some of the most beautiful coins ever struck. A notable auction result reached $4.2K in PR67 grade at Heritage Auctions. Designed by Melecio Figueroa.
