Description
The 1944 (S) Philippine Fifty Centavos is a cent produced at the San Francisco Mint as part of the Philippines Fifty Centavos 1903-1945 series. The obverse features a female figure standing beside an anvil, similar to but larger than the twenty centavos, while the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Designed by Melecio Figueroa. Struck in silver. Cataloged as PCGS #90375. The Philippine Fifty Centavos was the second-highest circulating denomination in the Philippine series, struck in silver. Silver content and limited mintages create collector value. The Commonwealth and wartime issues form distinct subsets.
