The 1905 Philippine Fifty Centavos is a United States cent from the Philippines Fifty Centavos 1903-1945 series — an early issue, 3rd of 15 years in the series. In 1905, coins were struck at the San Francisco Mint with a combined mintage of 852,000. The obverse features a female figure standing beside an anvil, similar to but larger than the twenty centavos and the reverse displays an eagle above a shield. Produced during the Progressive Era, when President Theodore Roosevelt championed a renaissance in American coin design that produced some of the most beautiful coins ever struck. Struck in silver.
