Tokens and medals featuring George Washington's portrait, produced both in America and England during and after the Revolutionary War. These include the 1783 Unity States cent, various military bust pieces, and inaugural medals. Washington consistently refused to have his portrait on official coinage, making these privately issued pieces the earliest Washington numismatic portraits.
