The LIVERPOOL Halfpenny group of the Washington Pieces (1783-1800) series holds the pieces described below. The Liverpool halfpenny of 1791 uses the obverse of the Large Eagle cent, WASHINGTON PRESIDENT 1791, with a ship and LIVERPOOL HALFPENNY on the reverse and the edge PAYABLE IN ANGLESEY LONDON OR LIVERPOOL (Baker 17). The 2019 Stack's Bowers catalogue notes that it is often found on a flan too small for the dies.
