Description

The 2007 (P) Presidential Dollar - George Washington, Position B is a dollar produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the Presidential Dollars 2007 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 176.7 million examples, making this ranked 19th of 20 mint variants by mintage, with 8% of production. The obverse features rotating portraits of each U.S. president in order of service, released four per year and the reverse displays the Statue of Liberty. The first President of the United States (1789–1797), George Washington served as Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolution and established many precedents for the office, including the tradition of a two-term limit. Often called the "Father of His Country," his likeness has appeared on more U.S. coins than any other president. Inaugural year of the Presidential Dollar Program, honoring Washington, Adams, Jefferson, and Madison. The "Godless Dollar" error — coins struck without the edge-incused motto IN GOD WE TRUST — generated national headlines and collector frenzy. Struck at the original U.S. Mint facility, in continuous operation since 1792. Estimated market value ranges from $1 to $5 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 88.5% copper, 6% zinc, 3.5% manganese and 2% nickel, weighing 8.1 grams, 26.5 mm in diameter, with a lettered edge. Cataloged as PCGS #150210.
