2007 (P) Presidential Dollar - George Washington, Position A - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-018

Description

WDDR-018 on the 2007 Philadelphia George Washington Presidential Dollar shows reverse die doubling at the intersection of the second ray clockwise from Liberty's head and the Statue of Liberty's right arm. Attributed by the Wexler Team, the obverse markers are die gouges to the right of the lower T and bottom of the N in WASHINGTON. The reverse carries a small die gouge centered between the F of OF and the first A of AMERICA. Cataloged under Wexler Variety ID 2007-P $1 GW WDDR-018. Position A and Position B name which way up the edge lettering runs (on Position A it reads upside down when the portrait faces up); the Mint added the lettering after striking, in random orientation, so the same die variety occurs with either.
