Introduced as the newest member of the American Eagle bullion family, the one-ounce palladium eagle features Adolph Weinman's celebrated Winged Liberty (Mercury dime) obverse — beautifully adapted to the larger 34mm canvas — paired with a high-relief eagle reverse inspired by Weinman's 1907 American Institute of Architects medal. Struck in .9995 fine palladium with a $25 face value, these are the first U.S. coins in this precious metal and represent the fourth metal in the American Eagle program alongside gold, silver, and platinum. The 2017 inaugural bullion issue was produced at the Philadelphia Mint, with proof versions following in 2018 and a reverse proof in 2019 — each in limited mintages that have created immediate collector interest.
