Description
The 2017 (P) Palladium Twenty Five Dollar represents a Philadelphia Mint issue from the American Palladium Eagles 2017 to Date series. The Mint sold 15,000 bullion coins dated 2017 to its authorized purchasers. The obverse features young Liberty wearing a winged Phrygian cap, symbolizing freedom of thought — often called the "Mercury" dime despite not depicting the Roman god — Adolph Weinman's Mercury Dime design adapted for the palladium program and the reverse displays an eagle with wings raised, holding a branch, adapted from Weinman's 1907 American Institute of Architects medal. Struck in 99.95% palladium, weighing 31.12 grams, 34.03 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #653109.
