Description
The 2024 (W) Proof Palladium Twenty Five Dollar is a proof palladium coin struck at the West Point Mint, part of the American Palladium Eagles 2017 to Date series. The obverse features young Liberty wearing a winged Phrygian cap, symbolizing freedom of thought — often called the "Mercury" dime despite not depicting the Roman god — Adolph Weinman's Mercury Dime design adapted for the palladium program and the reverse displays an eagle with wings raised, holding a branch, adapted from Weinman's 1907 American Institute of Architects medal. As a proof issue, this coin was struck multiple times on specially prepared polished planchets using polished dies, producing mirror-like fields and frosted design elements. Struck in 99.95% palladium, weighing 31.12 grams, 34.03 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #965895.
