Description
The 1962 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent is a cent produced at the Denver Mint as part of the Lincoln Memorial Cents 1959-2008 series. The U.S. Mint produced 1.8 billion examples, making this the higher-mintage of the two mint variants, representing 75% of production. The obverse features Abraham Lincoln facing right and the reverse displays the Lincoln Memorial building in Washington, D.C.. Both mints active with increasing mintages. Denver exceeded 1.7 billion cents. Struck at the Denver Mint, established in 1906 from an earlier assay office that processed Colorado gold rush metal. Estimated market value ranges from $0 to $1 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 95% copper, 5% zinc, weighing 3.11 grams, 19 mm in diameter, with a plain edge. Cataloged as PCGS #2879.
