This variety was discovered on the 2014 (P) Kennedy Half Dollar, part of the Kennedy Half Dollars Clad and Silver Proof 1971 to Date series. Die markers: Stage “C“, obverse is LDS – a die chip connecting to a die crack that runs the length of Kennedy’s check is seen on the obverse. Reverse is LDS – a die crack is seen on the bottom of the designer’s initials right above the W of WE. This die was found by Phil Hammond. .
