Description
TrailDies' 2014P-50DEO-002T is a 2014 Philadelphia half dollar (the 50 in the code) with trails on the obverse, DEO being its shorthand for an obverse design extension; 002 is its place in the file and T signals trails. The trails are light and confined to two letters of the motto, the E of WE and the R of TRUST. They point at 110°, east-southeast, just below horizontal to the right. TrailDies' coin is a middle-die-state piece, with a small obverse gouge below and right of LIBERTY's I and a reverse scratch joining the two stars above the H of HALF. Phil Hammond found it. Trails are usually attributed to the die being polished with a rotary buff, with movement of the die against the hub as the alternative some favour.

- Stage “B“, obverse is MDS – a small die gouge is seen to the lower right of the I in LIBERTY.
- Reverse is MDS – a die scratch connects the two stars over the letter H in HALF.
