2005 (P) Jefferson Nickel - Bison - P-5DER-001T Trail Die Reverse
Error
Description
2005P-5DER-001T is a Bison-reverse nickel of 2005 from Philadelphia, with light trails running out from under the animal at 170°, a little east of due south. In TrailDies' code, 2005P is the date and mint, 5 the nickel, DER a reverse design extension, 001 the file and T the trail type. TrailDies' example is from stage B, the middle of the die's life, with no obverse markers; the reverse has die scratches below the Bison's chest. TrailDies credits Ken Potter for the pictures and information but names no finder. Opinion mostly ties trails to polishing the die with a rotary buff, though some think the die moved against the hub.
Die Markers
