Description
2005P-5DEO-001T is a 2005 Philadelphia nickel from the Bison year, and TrailDies files it under that design. Its code covers year and mint, then 5 (five cents), DEO (obverse, design extension), the file 001 and a T for the trail category. Light lines on the word IN and on the D of GOD hang downward at 180°, due south. The coin described is middle die state (stage B), with die scratches running from Jefferson's upper lip to the base of his nose and, on the reverse, a small gouge just right of the second T in STATES. The die was found by Tanaka Davis. A rotary buff used to polish the die is the commonly cited source of trails, with movement between die and hub a minority alternative.
Die Markers
