1956 (D) Roosevelt Dime - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-007

Description

1956-D WRPM-007 is a repunched mint mark on the 1956-D Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as D/D Tilted (Rotated). The nose has a large die break. The hair on the back of the head has a few short NW/SE scratches, N-shaped scratches sit behind the head, and a short N/S scratch lies ahead of the nose's bridge. Well above the 5 of the date, on its right side, is a large gouge. Reverse markers: a strong N/S scratch between the upper oak leaf cluster and the upper torch; a few strong scratches extending SE off the flame; N/S scratches between the two rightmost oak leaf clusters; weak N/S scratches through the olive branch; and gouges between the tops of STATES's T and E, over the right side of UNUM's M, and touching the upper left of PLURIBUS's first U. Eric Axtell submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
