1929 (S) Lincoln Wheat Cent - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-001

Description

This 1929 (S) Lincoln Wheat Cent repunched mint mark, WRPM-001, is cataloged by Wexler (doubleddie.com) as 1929-S 1¢ WRPM-001. The mint mark is S/S/S North & Northwest. Stage A shows strong secondaries, including traces of an upper serif to the northwest, with a scratch NNE from the top of the second 9, a V-shaped scratch from the 1 to the vest, and a die clash at the throat. By Stage B only the northern secondary remains and a chip appears below the beard; Stage C adds a chip below the U of TRUST. Reverse Stage A: clash marks right of the E in ONE, a mint mark clash below the M of UNUM, and a lathe gouge joining RIBU of PLURIBUS, which by Stage D links only the B and U.
