1956 (D) Roosevelt Dime - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-005

Description

1956-D WRPM-005 is a repunched mint mark on the 1956-D Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as D/D Tilted (Rotated). Between LIBERTY's B and E, centered, is a gouge, and the back of the neck has a N/S scratch. Reverse markers: a NNW/SSE scratch right of center from ST, the first two letters of STATES; a scratch heading north off the lower tail of STATES's last S; a die chip left of center from UNITED's T; and a die crack leaving the mint mark and running ESE over the torch base. Jeff Longeuay submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
