1911-D Repunched Mintmark RPM-001

Description

Cross-referenced as Fivaz-Stanton FS-501, this 1911-D Lincoln wheat cent carries the primary repunched mintmark designation RPM-001 from VarietyVista, with universal variety code UVC-1052 and die marriage record DMR-002. The mintmark shows a D/D displacement to the southwest, where the secondary D impression sits below and to the left of the primary punch. Three die stages reveal a progressive loss of the repunching evidence. In Stage A at early die state, the strong secondary mintmark is clearly visible to the south, while the reverse is also in early die state.
