Description
1956-D WRPM-006 is a repunched mint mark on the 1956-D Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as D/D Tilted (Rotated). At the rim, a long concentric scratch runs from LIBERTY's T to 12:00. Ahead of the eye is a strong NE/SW scratch, ahead of the lips a N/S scratch, and ahead of the forehead weak NE/SW scratches. The reverse shows N/S scratches between the left olive leaf cluster and the lower olive, and a NE/SW scratch over PLURIBUS's last U. Many gouges lie among and under ATES in STATES, with further gouges under AMERICA's R and over DIME's M. Eric Axtell submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
