Description
S/S Tilted (Rotated)Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Strong N/S die scratch right of the 1 in the date. Weak NW/SE die scratches between the neck and IGWT. Die scratches extend NW from the lips. NE/SW die scratch in the lower opening of the E in LIBERTY. Short, curving die scratches in the hair at the top of the head. Strong N/S die scratches on the neck below the ear. Large die gouge touches the rim above the right side of the E in LIBERTY. Obverse Stage B: Die scratches through IGWT and LIBERTY completely abraded away. Die scratches below ear nearly completely abraded away. All other Stage A markers present. E/W die crack through the hair at the top of the head meets a second NW/SE die crack through the hair at the back of the head. Strong NE/SW die scratch on the nose. Strong NW/SE die scratches on the neck behind and below the ear. Reverse Stage A: Many thin circular die scratches on the center of the torch and the leaves overlapping it. Circular die scratches on the upper oak leaves. N/S die scratch between the top of the torch and the oak leaves. Strong die scratch extends SW from the lower acorn just right of the S in PLURIBUS. Die gouge south of the second U in PLURIBUS. Reverse Stage B: Die scratch SW from the acorn completely abraded away. All other Stage A markers present. NW/SE die crack over the base of the torch. Weak die clash through the olive branch. Strong N/S die scratch between the US in PLURIBUS. Strong NW/SE die scratch below the first U in PLURIBUS. NW/SE die scratch to the right of the stem of the olive branch.
