1948 (S) Roosevelt Dime - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-009

Description

1948-S WRPM-009 is a repunched mint mark on the 1948-S Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as S/S West. On the obverse, a die chip sits at the top of the B's lower inside hole in LIBERTY, and another lies between LIBERTY's R and the head. On the reverse, a weak WNW/ESE scratch is centered on the torch flame, and light die swirls cover the olive leaves touching the torch. On the olive leaf cluster touching the torch, a die chip sits on and just below the tip at its center. Jeff Longeuay submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
