1948 (S) Roosevelt Dime - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-012

Description

1948-S WRPM-012 is a repunched mint mark on the 1948-S Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as S/S West. On the obverse, two gouges sit on top of the hair at its upper right, and a light scratch runs west off the lower left of LIBERTY's L, curving upward. On the reverse, many light N/S scratches appear. A NNE/SSW scratch joins PLURIBUS's first U with the olive branch, and two strong NNW/SSE scratches link the upper right oak leaf's stem with the upper oak leaf's stem. Two strong SSE scratches come from an oak leaf and the torch holder. Jeff Longeuay submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
