Description

1948-S WRPM-011 is a repunched mint mark on the 1948-S Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as S/S West. On the obverse, a roughly N/S scratch sits inside the ear, a N/S scratch lies between the Y in LIBERTY and the forehead, and a scratch runs south from the upper right of TRUST's second T. On the reverse, N/S scratches cross TES of STATES. A pattern of scratches runs NW from the N of ONE to PL of PLURIBUS, then turns north and climbs along the olive and its leaves on their left side. NNW/SSE scratches cross the upper right oak leaf. Jeff Longeuay submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
