Description
D/D Tilted (Rotated) Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Slightly curving N/S die scratch to the left of the 9 in the date. Die scratches from the vest adjacent the first 1 in the date. N/S die scratch centered in the hair and positioned below WE. Long die scratch from the upper right of the N of IN running east to the rim. Die scratch SSE from the lower left side of the O in GOD to the head. Lathe marks near the rim in the area of the back of the bust. Obverse Stage B: Stage A die scratches are weaker except the die scratch in the hair which is still strong. The die scratch from the N of IN is abraded away. The lather mark is abraded away. Obverse Stage C: All die scratches abraded away except the die scratch in the hair. Reverse Stage A: Fine N/S die scratches in the field. Reverse Stage B: Die scratches abraded away. Reverse Stage C: Light die crack from the upper left of the E in ONE to the lower right of the B in PLURIBUS.
