Description

Class VI doubling shows on the date, LIBERTY, and IN GOD WE TRUST, with a notch showing on the lower R in TRUST. Die Markers: Obverse: Stage A: A series of vertical die scratches run through LIBERTY. A vertical die scratch runs through the tip of Lincoln’s nose. Stage B: The Stage A vertical die scratches through LIBERTY are extremely weak. A die crack runs from the rim at 6 o’clock onto Lincoln’s lower bust. Reverse: Stage A: A die crack runs to the rim at 4 o’clock, to the southeast of the last S in STATES. Stage B: Reverse die changed. A diagonal die scratch shows inside the lower opening of the C in CENT. Vertical die scratches run through the E in CENT. Vertical die scratches show on either side of the of the T in CENT. Numerous vertical die scratches run through most of the letters in UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Obverse: A die gouge shows on the central right edge of the L in LIBERTY. A series of small die gouges (dots) show around the Y in LIBERTY. A faded die scratch runs south from the Y in LIBERTY. A die gouge shows on the front of Lincoln’s bust, southwest of the date. Reverse: A vertical die scratch run from the left wheat tip into the E in E PLURIBUS. Light, vertical die scratches run through the N and T in UNITED. A vertical die scratch runs along the left edge of the opening of the O in OF. Light, diagonal die scratches run below the letters A and M in AMERICA.
