Description

1941-D WDDO-004 is a doubled die obverse on the 1941-D Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Class II and Class VI doubling appear on LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and the date. Obverse: a gouge on the central right edge of LIBERTY's L; a series of small dots around its Y, and a faded scratch running south from that Y; and a gouge on the front of the bust, southwest of the date. On the reverse: a vertical scratch running into E PLURIBUS' E from the left wheat tip; light vertical scratches through UNITED's N and T; a vertical scratch along the left edge of the opening in OF's O; and light diagonal scratches beneath AMERICA's A and M. Lou Coles submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as 2-O-VI; the Coppercoins number is 1941D-1DO-003.
